About

Trees, Trees, Trees

Since becoming stewards of the land in January 2017, we have planted over a whopping 2000 trees at Three Hares.  Thanks to all the volunteers who are making this happen.

To keep up to date with Events and Happenings at Three Hares join our mailing list by clicking on the…you guessed it… ‘Join Our Mailing List’ tab, or keep checking back here on the ‘News and Events’ Page.

Regular ‘Volunteer Days’ happen on the last Sunday on each month, 11am-3pm.

Come along for all of the session or drop in for as long as you can.  Activites include Tree Care, Woodland Management and Path Maintenance.  Bring snacks, water and working gloves if you have them.  No previous experience necessary and all are welcome!

Get involved!

The Three Hares Woodland is an 18 acre community woodland near Auchendinny, Midlothian.

The Three Hares has been set up as a Community Interest Company who have just signed an initial 5 year lease on the site (January 2017).  Our vision is to protect and develop the woodland for the benefit of the community.

The initial design process has involved the directors, assisted by permaculture design students. We have lots of ideas of how we would like to progress – if you would like to become involved, contact us!

Hi we passed by your woodland yesterday and swooped down to have a look. Thanks for the directions along the river ‘path’. We found our way. What a wonderful project – we hope to join you on your Sunday gatherings when we can. With our best wishes.
