Since February 2022, Three Hares has hosted a group from Garvald who run a weekly ‘Fire and Craft’ session.
This is the kind of thing they get up to:
“We have been thoroughly enjoying the Three Hares – getting to know the site, the hut, the compost loo! In terms of activities: making fires with flint and steel, (using the fire for) cooking, making artist charcoal from willow, making popcorn. We have been exploring the river, the plants and investigating the trees. We have made pens from brambles and dyed and spun wool, including making sit-mats for when the ground is wet. Plus lots of cups of tea and packed lunch!”
The photo shows the stunning results of eco printing, after making a pot of dye on the fire. Go Garvald!
The group continue their Fire and Craft sessions throughout the whole year, and we love having them at Three Hares.
If you have a group that you would like to bring to Three Hares, get in touch! We would be very happy to hear from you. threehareswoodland@gmail.com
