Beltane Fire Event this Saturday!

Come and join us for a day of firemaking, storytelling and spring time revelry, this Saturday.

Storyteller Dougie Mackay will be assisted by some young tellers in sharing tales of how fire was brought to the land of mortals, from Til Na Nog, the Celtic otherworld by a little brown bird.

After hearing the tale, bushcraft expert Paul Smith will lead participants in methods of primitive fire lighting, from flint and steel to friction fire.

As well as time to wander and explore the woodland, we will gather around the fire to share stories and songs in an outdoor ceilidh style.

About foragingandfindings

I'm a 4th year student at Edinburgh University studying ecology. I have a keen interest in foraging and nature and I've made this blog to share this. It will contain tips on what to forage and when and what to do with it afterwards.
