Last minute (apologies, VERY last minute) date change to the June Volunteer Day. Instead of Sunday the Volunteer session will now take place tomorrow, Saturday 28th June, from 2:30pm. The session will be a Scything session, so come join us if yo are interested in finding out what we do with scythes, and how!
If you are not able to come to this session, keep August 3rd free for another Scything Session at Three Hares.
No previous experience necessary! All welcome. Bring appropriate footwear, water and snacks!
At the end of April we had a live launch of the Poetry Trail, funded by SUSTRANS ArtRoots. The day was enjoyed by over 70 visitors, who walked the Poetry Trail route together, entertained by live Poetry readings and live music. Thanks to the wordsmiths Ryan Van Winkle, Shea Martin, Glen Leslie, Lady Incarnate, Iona Lee, Nix and Tracy O’Loughlin. Thanks to Storyteller Dougie MacKay. Also, thanks to the two brilliant group poems created by Garvald Mayfield Garden Workshop and Health In Mind Branching Out Plus.
You can hear their poems by downloading Echoes App for free, then downloading ‘Three Hares Poetry Trail’ walk. Visit Three Hares (we recommend with headphones) and by geolocation the audio for each poem will begin when you are in that Poetry Place. Follow the beautiful map created by Katy Lonsdale, and look out for Oak Post way-markers and benches to enjoy the poems in the exact place where they were written.
Thanks to all the musicians who played music as we walked the route, and also played tunes of their own in each poetry place. So, big shout out to Morag Brown & Lewis Powell-Reid, Rory McLeod, Miwa Nagato-Apthorp, Joel Sanderson, and Jemima Thewes.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along for the Live Launch, it was such a great day!!

Our monthly ‘Last Sunday Of The Month’, Volunteer Day is upon us. Sunday 30th March from 11am-3pm. Tasks at hand for the day include planning our compost build and tool care. Expect pallet placing, oiling of wooden handles, compost chat galore, Kelly Kettles bubbling and plans of scything to come. If that weren’t enough to tempt you, fireside bread on a stick with hey pesto!
